Orfit’s SBRT solution extensively tested by Jolimont Hospital in Belgium – The results

The Orfit SBRT-solution has been extensively tested by the Jolimont Hospital in La Louvière, Belgium. Their radiotherapy department was looking for an SBRT-system and decided to do a clinical verification of the Orfit SBRT Solution. We are happy to be able to share their experiences.

They decided to test the long SBRT base plate, and they experienced the following positive features:

• The base plate offers many immobilization possibilities;
• The reproducibility of the immobilization is suitable for SBRT-treatments;
• The solution is comfortable for the patients.

Because of the dimensions of the long SBRT base plate, the radiotherapy department also wanted to try out the short base plate. This lighter, thinner and shorter SBRT base plate is easier to handle, but offers less possibilities for immobilizing with a thermoplastic mask.

This is why the staff of the Jolimont Hospital decided to purchase the complete SBRT Solution with the long base plate instead of the short plate. On the long plate, they are able to mould any type of mask. They are now using the SBRT solution for all types of SBRT treatments, including liver and spine treatments.
